BulletBoys: The Original Lineup Returns, Ready for a Smooth New Chapter
Formed from the heart of the late ’80s Sunset Strip scene, BulletBoys quickly established themselves as a dynamic force in hard rock, delivering a blues-infused sound that set them apart from the pure glam metal pack. Now, after years of separate paths and various iterations, the gold-selling band is back with the lineup that started it all: Marq Torien, Mick Sweda, Lonnie Vencent, and Jimmy D’Anda. The band’s 1988 self-titled debut, featuring the massive hits “Smooth Up in Ya” and the O’Jays cover “For the Love of Money,” was a critical and commercial success. Albums like 1991’s Freakshow followed, showcasing their sophisticated blend of hard rock grit and undeniable groove. Their videos topped the charts on MTV and still get millions of views on YouTube today.

Meet the Original BulletBoys:
The chemistry of this core four is what defined the band’s signature sound. Here’s a look at the musicians who put the smooth in BulletBoys:
Marq Torien (Vocals): Iconic vocalist Marq Torien, with infectious hooks and electrifying stage presence, is the charismatic frontman who delivers powerhouse vocals and stage show that never disappoints.
Mick Sweda (Guitar): Mick Sweda is the architect of the band’s rich, bluesy hard rock sound. His songwriting chops and masterful, guitar work provided the musical foundation that separated BulletBoys from their peers.
Lonnie Vencent (Bass): Lonnie Vencent delivers the unmistakable low-end pulse that anchors the BulletBoys’ sound, locking the whole machine into the groove only he can create.
Jimmy D’Anda (Drums): The engine room of the original band, D’Anda’s swagger and bombastic, yet tasteful, drumming provided the necessary
drive and punch. His powerful drumming style is an essential component of the classic BulletBoys groove.

Acknowledging the Past: Why This Time is Different
To the devoted fans who have witnessed previous attempts at a full original lineup reunion that ultimately faltered, the skepticism is understandable. The path of the BulletBoys has been marked by internal conflicts and short-lived collaborations over the past three decades. However, the members insist this return is different. Driven by a mutual desire to close an unfinished chapter and a renewed, mature understanding of their shared history, the reunion is founded on a cleared slate and a collective commitment to the music.

This reunion isn’t about simply revisiting the past; it’s about channeling their classic energy with the wisdom and experience gained from their individual journeys. The reformed BulletBoys are ready to prove that sometimes, the best way forward is to smooth things up for good. Fans can look forward to connecting with the original lineup as the band plans to hit the road in 2026 for a full slate of touring dates.

About the Artist

The Heavy Hitters are a powerhouse collective of veteran Connecticut musicians whose chemistry was forged onstage long before they ever became a band. What began as an open mic project among some of the region’s most seasoned players quickly evolved into a dynamic, road ready ensemble with more than 150 years of combined experience—and a shared ability to deliver hundreds of songs on the fly with uncanny precision.
Known for their elite musicianship, deep catalog, and electrifying live energy, The Heavy Hitters bring audiences the rare thrill of hearing their favorite songs performed with the authenticity and excitement of the original artists. It’s no wonder they’ve been praised as a “remarkably singular” group rising far above the typical cover band scene.
Whether lighting up festivals, clubs, or private events, The Heavy Hitters deliver a show that feels like a greatest hits concert—every single time.

About the Band

Not everyone understands what it’s like to lose everything and piece your life back together. It is a universal fight for emotional survival, navigating the wreckage of broken relationships, wrestling with mental health, and finding the resilience to keep going. With their latest album, White Flag Down, Nashville’s A Thousand Horses have paved that exact road with thunderous guitars and cinematic choruses.

Telling the most personal story the band has ever put to tape, the record explores divorce, recovery, and the journey of healing. Instead of pulling back into acoustic melancholy, the band turned the amplifiers up. Fusing their signature rock storytelling with 90s-inspired guitar anthems, tracks like “Dead Man Walking” and the Aaron Gillespie collaboration “Shadows” push the group deeper into modern rock territory while keeping their Southern grit intact.

To capture this sonic shift, frontman Michael Hobby, guitarist Bill Satcher, and bassist Graham DeLoach expanded their lineup to include drummer Nathan Sexton and guitarist Adam Browder. The result is a bold reinvention for the Platinum-certified band behind the global breakout hit “Smoke.” Today, A Thousand Horses make the kind of music that reminds you exactly why rock still matters, loud, honest, and raw.
