About Fortune

For well over three decades, Fortune has regularly packed venues throughout New England. Hailing from Peabody, MA, this 6-piece band has long maintained a reputation for smooth three and four part vocal harmonies, dynamic and melodic textures of multiple guitars and keyboards, and a tight rhythm section. A Fortune show always features the type of songs that “bands don’t try to cover” such as Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Foreplay/Longtime by Boston, or Won’t Get Fooled again by The Who, as well as many others ranging from Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to Journey and Yes! The band also has two albums of original compositions – 1993’s FORTUNE and 1996’s STORYLINE, both originally released in Japan.

Over the years, Fortune has been privileged to open for national acts such as Cheap Trick, Kansas, Dave Mason, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Robin Trower, Bad Company, Blue Oyster Cult, The Guess Who, Ben Orr, America, and Jefferson Starship. More recently, Fortune was called to open for Kansas for the fourth time over the past decade.

Fortune is: Bob Vose, Lead vocals; Bill Plourde, Guitar; Chris Lester, Guitar; Steve Baker, Keyboards; Lou Spagnola, Bass; Dickie Paris; Drums

About Leonid & Friends

Passion. Persistence. Perfection.
By Scott Schwebke

With multiple sold-out U.S. tours under its belt and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, Leonid & Friends continues to astound its global audience with its unique ability in capturing the spirit, musicality, and fire of American supergroup Chicago.

And what is even more stunning is that Leonid & Friends, comprised of 11 of the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, haven’t seen Chicago perform live, yet replicates the band’s complex arrangements amazingly note for note.

Chicago has never been in Russia, and none of us have attended their concerts,” said Leonid Vorobyev, a multi-instrumentalist who is the band’s leader. “We have only recordings and videos (to help us learn Chicago songs).”

About Mighty Mystic

Mighty Mystic is considered as one of the leaders in the international reggae scene and is a box office draw at venues and a staple at festivals. The Jamaican born U.S. based artist has 5 highly acclaimed albums 4 of which charted top 10 on Billboard and iTunes. He is labeled as a touring machine with roughly 40 tours equaling thousands of concerts and a career spanning two decades. His high flying, stage diving, brand of reggae music is electrifying and has been captivating audiences everywhere. He has gone from being a fan of reggae music to being a major contributor to the art. Mighty Mystic came on the scene in 2006 after scoring back-to-back international hits with “Riding on the Clouds” and “Revolution”. However, it wasn’t until the release of his first album “Wake up the World” (2010) that he became a household name. “Wake up the World” was a chart-topping album with guest appearance by reggae icon Shaggy. Mystic continues to wake up the world with energy and passion and a brand of his own which he emphatically calls “Hard Roots”. FUN FACT: Mighty Mystic is also the younger brother of current Jamaican Prime Minister the Honorable Andrew Holness. When asked, does being the brother of Prime Minister Holness have any impact on your music? Mystic simply says “Andrew has a job to do and so do I, impact or not we both have our own mission to complete”.

THE EARLY YEARS
Mighty Mystic was born Kevin Mark Holness in the farming community of Goshen, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to parents Morris & Sonia Holness. As a child, Kevin showed early interest in his native island’s music. It was common to hear him singing the latest tunes while imitating the actions of popular reggae artists. When Kevin was 9, the family left Goshen and relocated to Boston. Though oceans apart Kevin never lost the passion for his beloved reggae music. Kevin alongside his brother Stephen began performing at school talent shows, outdoor gatherings and anywhere a mic was on display and quickly made a name for themselves as the “reggae rappers”. Soon after the brothers formed their first band the “Thunder Band”. Kevin became “Mystic” as it was his dads nickname and also the name of the area in Boston where he lived. With Mystic on vocals and Stephen on the lightening sharp guitar the brothers would score a National hit (Riding on the Clouds) and a Global hit (Revolution) on their two first releases. This early success and family bond would be the foundation of which carefully crafted reggae music would flow.

MYSTIC OF TODAY
Though his brother Stephen has since retired, Mighty Mystic has continued to carry the reggae torch. And is now a Globally respected and sought-after artist on the reggae scene. His brand of “HARD ROOTS” with his high energy stage performance has been a magnet for the enthusiastic reggae fan base. He has managed to hold firm to his Jamaican roots while adding elements of Hip Hop and Rock giving Mystic his own identifiable sound. To date Mighty Mystic has released 5 successful albums Wake up the World 2010, Concrete World 2014, The Art of Balance 2016, Enter the Mystic 2019 and Giant 2022. Many of his releases have become cult like favorites within the global reggae genre. He has come a long way from performing at school talent shows to now sharing the stage with some of the greats like Ziggy Marley, Steel Pulse, Damian Marley, Buju Banton, Stephen Marley, Shaggy, SOJA, Toots and the Maytals, Collie Buddz, Sean Paul, Lee Scratch Perry, Barrington Levy, The Wailers, John Brownʼs Body, Dirty Heads Third World, Freddie McGregor, Capleton and the list goes on… Whether club, festival or TV you can be sure to be entertained by the vibes provided by Mighty Mystic. Be on the lookout for his up-coming 2022 “Giant” Album release world tour.

About Leftover Salmon

Few bands stick around for thirty years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. Since their earliest days as a forward thinking, progressive bluegrass band who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound, to their role as a pioneer of the modern jamband scene, to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while at the same time pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly, unique style.

As Leftover Salmon nears their 30th year, their inspiring story is set to be told in a brand new book, Leftover Salmon: Thirty Years of Festival! that will be released February 2019 by Rowman & Littlefield. In this book, critically acclaimed author of Bluegrass in Baltimore: The Hard Drivin’ Sound & It’s Legacy, Tim Newby presents an intimate portrait of Leftover Salmon through the personal recollections of its band members, family, friends, former band-mates, managers, and the countless musicians they have influenced. Leftover Salmon: Thirty Years of Festival! is a thorough guide covering a thirty-year journey of a truly remarkable band. It is a tale of friendships and losses, musical discoveries and Wild West adventures, and the brethren they surround themselves with who fortify Salmon’s unique voice. Their story is one of tragedy and rebirth, of unimaginable highs and crushing lows, of friendships, of music, but most importantly it is the story of a special band and those that have lived through it all to create, inspire, and have everlasting fun.

Heading into their fourth decade Leftover Salmon is showing no signs of slowing down as they are coming off the release of their most recent album, Something Higher (released in 2018) which has been universally hailed as one of the band’s finest releases. Something Higher shows how even upon preparing to enter their fourth decade Leftover Salmon is proving it possible to recreate themselves without changing who they are. The band now features a line-up that has been together longer than any other in Salmon history and is one of the strongest the legendary band has ever assembled. Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn, and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison, drummer Alwyn Robinson, and keyboardist Erik Deutsch. The new line-up is continuing the long, storied history of Salmon which found them first emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one the original jam bands, before rising to become architects of what has become known as Jamgrass and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live. Salmon is a band who over their thirty-year career has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch, to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville, before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.
