About Judy Collins
Judy Collins will be traveling across the country this fall reaching out to her fans with the music and guitar that everyone remembers, knows and loves.
Judy Collins started in the performing arts world at the ripe age of 13 sharing her talents while performing Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos. It wasn’t long until Collins explored the other side of music and soon became fascinated with lyrics and fell in love with her guitar. In 1961 at 22 years old, Collins released her first album, A Maid of Constant Sorrow, in which she focused mainly on traditional folk songs and covered songs of other artists that she felt were instrumental at the time. In fact, multiple musicians, including Leonard Cohen, have Collins to thank for expanding their audience.
Collins has continued to be musically successful decade after decade, being entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame for her rendition of Joni Mitchell's “Both Sides Now” and winning Song of the Year with “Send in the Clowns”. Judy has not only been successful in the music industry but has also conquered multiple books and had directed an Academy Award-nominated film.
Join us at Blue Ocean Music Hall as Judy Collins performs her favorite folk tunes and shares the music she has created in hopes to “light up the world and speak to the heart”.
